Oh… for fucks sake. That’s all I can say.

I battled with Vegas today… for no reason whatsoever. I swear, it’s the dumbest thing.

I was trying to add a frame on one of my older Supernatural videos, so I could upload it to my current Youtube channel but the Event FX window would not open… neither would the Event Pan/Crop window. Or so I stupidly thought. In fact, I was so sure of this that I made an account on the Sony Vegas Community forum in order to get help.

But not before I deleted and reinstalled the program… 4 fucking times.

AAAAARRRRRGH!!!! The frustration was real.

Now, I do have some experience with this program and I am aware that sometimes the work windows get lost behind other effect applications, there’s just so much happening in Sony Vegas Pro compared to the very basic Movie Maker, it’s ridiculous.

And in my defense, I did look for the windows I needed. Just not very thoroughly.

Naturally, no sooner had I been bitching on the boards about how much it sucked that you had to pay so much money for a faulty program… before the window popped up.

Where was it? Oh, you know… just behind the stupid task line at the bottom of the screen. It wasn’t until I randomly decided to move the task line all the way to the left that I discovered it hiding underneath. What was it even doing there? Why would they program it to open down there the very first time you use it? Makes no sense.

Of course, then I had to return to the boards with my tail between my legs and admit that it was just me who was retarded and Vegas had done nothing wrong. Not fun.

Oh well… it worked out in the end, I finished the frame and the video is up. It was one of the first ones I did with Supernatural. The quality of it is not the best which is why I tried to improve it by making the window as small as I could get away with, the frame bigger and I also improved the contrast a bit. I just thought it was too good to go to waste.

It’s centered on Dean’s sacrifice to save his brother Sam after he was killed in the season 2 finale. Basically, Dean makes a deal with a demon to bring Sam back to life, and in return, Dean gets one year to live before the hellhounds come to drag him to hell. They try all of season 3 to get Dean out of that deal but are unsuccessful and he is ultimately killed.

I feel like the reason Dean could not let Sam move on to the afterlife comes down to the fact that their father put so much of the responsibility for Sam’s safety on Dean’s shoulders at a very young age. Taking care of his baby brother is such a big part of Dean’s personality throughout the whole show. I mean, it had been his job since he was 4 years old and when he failed, he couldn’t handle it. So he made a choice that he knew would cost him his own life in the end. All for his brother. That is the “gravity of love.”

The song is “O Fortuna” by Enigma.

Watch or don’t watch, that’s up to you.
